"I am a teacher with a dream to open a quilting store when I retire."
My quilting story began in the sweet summers spent with my grandmother growing up in a rural town in Arkansas. My grandmother was an avid quilter who pieced quilts on a machine and hand quilted them on a wooden frame. She instilled a love a crafting in me that lives on today.
I can remember her hands vividly as she sewed the materials together on her machine. Oddly though, I cannot remember the material or any finished quilt...just her hands. I wish I could tell her how much I miss her and those moments growing up with her. She also made crochet can hats like that ones I have in my shop. Every time I make a hat or a quilt, I think of her.
When I retire from teaching, I dream of opening a quilting store in the same small town that she taught me in. Every purchase that you make from my online store, either in Etsy or my website, brings me one step closer to my dream!
